Jim McDowall has worked in the battery industry since 1977 and is currently with Saft in the position of Business Development Manager, North America. He is a former chair of the IEEE Power Engineering Society's Stationary Battery Committee and is currently chairman of the board of directors of the Electricity Storage Association. He is also a member of the Battcon conference technical committee and was elected as Battery Person of the Year by the attendees of Battcon 2003. He has been a working group chair for several IEEE battery standards and has written or co-written numerous technical papers.
