JayPark is a registered professional electrical engineer and has 25 years of experience in various high tech industries including datacenter design and construction, semiconductor fabs, geothermal power plants, offshore oil drilling platforms, and utility substations. He joined Facebook in 2009 as the director of datacenter design, construction and facility operations. Since joining Facebook, Jayhas filed four patents related to datacenter design. Heapplied his patent pending design, 48VDC DC UPS system integrated with 277VAC server power supply, and launched an innovative high energy efficient, cost effective, and high reliability datacenter in Prineville, Oregon. Jay filed three more patents related to data center design. Prior to working for Facebook, Jay worked at Exodus Communications in early 2000-2005 where he entered the datacenter industry working and launched the first block redundant electrical system. In 2005 he joined Equinix as a senior director of IBX Engineering. While at Equinix his datacenter design achieved three major goals—they were energy efficient, they maintained six 9’s reliability, and required low capital investment. His designs helped Equinix become a leader in the COLO business. |
