The 7×24 International Greater Philadelphia Chapter kicked off the holiday season on December 1 at Netrality Data Centers. Attendees gathered for the inaugural WiMCO Community Chapter event and festive appetizers and cocktails with colleagues. The event started with the assembly of 50 of the Peace & Smiles Box® project and 50 Sock Rolls & Snack Buster Bags in conjunction with The Giving Tree (more about these service projects below). Participants enjoyed conversing while assembling the projects and everyone agreed that the work got us into the giving spirit! After completing the service projects, many enjoyed a tour of Netrality Data Center followed by the opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues in a relaxed setting.
Peace & Smiles Box
Our PEACE & SMILES BOX ® is a wonderful project that starts with an empty cereal box and finishes with a happy child. Filled with craft items, wrapped up with white paper, and decorated with happy thoughts and good wishes, these boxes can bring hours of fun to pediatric patients and other children in need of warm wishes during difficult times.
Sock Rolls & Snack Buster Bags
Did you know that socks are the #1 most requested clothing item in the homeless community? A fresh pair of socks and a snack ‘rolled together’ is our small way of making a big difference in the lives of those in need. The sock rolls were added to bags of healthy snacks that provide a nice, substantial assortment for individuals in need.
