As director of Data Center Architecture, Strategy and Innovation for Symantec, Dan is accountable for the efficiencies of the data center program including architecture, engineering, implementation and operations globally. He currently supports data center locations comprised of Colocation, Managed Service Provider, and in-house data centers. Dan is also responsible for Symantec's Corporate Green IT Program and is a member of Symantec's Environmental Stewardship Council. Dan Joined Symantec in February 2002 and has managed the Network Operations Center, the Data Center Operations team, the Data Center Engineering and Global Backup Operations teams. Prior to Symantec, Dan was with Terraspring a private software company providing Grid Computing Architecture. Dan's responsibilities included supporting the IT Operations Control Center and Data Center Operations.
For The Green Grid, Dan serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Metrics and Measurements Working Group within the Technical Committee. Dan leads the taskforce for Harmonizing Global Metrics for Data Center Energy Efficiency with the world's leading governmental experts from the United States, European Union and Japan. Dan is also The Green Grid lead for the Data Center Metrics Coordination Taskforce comprised of U.S. Industry leaders.
