Gary Aron is the Vice President of the Data Center Management organization at Comcast. In this role he has responsibility for all of Comcast's critical computing facilities, and support of the technology equipment which inhabits these facilities.
Gary worked at Bell Atlantic/Verizon for 22 years, managing Data Centers and establishing operational standards and best practices in the area of Data Center and technology operations support. After Verizon, Gary joined Bank One, and subsequently JPMorganChase, as Vice President of Data Center Operations, and established the Data Center Facility Management group. Gary's team established and implemented standards and metrics to support the company's many Data Centers. He is credited with establishing the relationships between the IT and real estate organizations, which resulted in significant savings for the corporation and improved reliability of the systems supporting the business. Under his direction, the bank had a very aggressive task of addressing the numerous issues affecting legacy facilities, while at the same time completing 3 major Data Center projects.
Gary serves on the Board of Directors Delaware Valley Chapter of the 7X24 Exchange, and is a long standing member of AFCOM. He and his team have been recognized for their leadership within the industry, and are often sought out for their knowledge and expertise in Data Center design and management. He has been responsible for developing the justification and strategies around the need for new Data Centers, along with the experience of having completed several large scale and very complex Data Center projects.
