David Anderson is a Professional Engineer who has worked on every mainframe from the 3081 in 1981 to the System z9 EC and BC which are IBM's current mainframes. His career has included managing I/O chip design for the zSeries, planning mainframe products for small and medium size Customers and managing IBM Poughkeepsie's Cost Engineering Department. Today about 80% of his time is spent directly with Clients and the other 20% of his time with the Product Development teams. As the content team leader for the Poughkeepsie Executive Briefing Center, his knowledge includes current products and future Server trends and directions. He is passionate about Systems and has assisted in Development for all types of servers, from mainframes to Intel Servers. He is an expert in how Systems fit into an On Demand Operating Environment to include IBM's Virtualization Engine and Service Oriented Architecture. His knowledge of systems includes technical aspects such as microprocessor design and RAS functions as well as how and why Customers need and use different systems. David sees 100's of Clients each year. He welcomes feedback and requirements from Clients as this is how the Systems Development teams make sure they focus on the products that are needed and desired in the marketplace, both now and in the future.
