Mr. Kuppinger has over 20 years of Data Center experience, with his first 12 years as a key member in the design of IBM's main frame production Data Centers. In 1994, Mr. Kuppinger became the founding Principal of the Mission Critical Facility & Communications Technology Group at Environmental Systems Design, Inc., which he currently manages.
Mr. Kuppinger's expertise lies in leading and guiding clients through the change management process for major MCF and Technology projects. He possesses the critical industry knowledge to help clients see the "big picture" and can envision patterns where others may see complexity. Mr. Kuppinger provides the client with expert advice related to state-of-the-art trends coupled with expert knowledge of the MCF and Technology engineering systems. This skill allows him the opportunity to interface directly with the executive boards of Fortune 500 companies, bringing projects from the initial idea or need stage through successful completion. Mr. Kuppinger has worked on over 3 million square feet of MCF and Technology projects.
Mr. Kuppinger received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1986. He is a registered professional engineer in multiple states, as well as a BiCSI certified Registered Communications Distribution Designer and Network Transport Systems specialist.
Mr. Kuppinger has recently presented at AFCOM, AIA, IFMA, the national TFM Show, and several years ago at UUUG (Uninterruptible Uptime Users Group, the predecessor to 7x24 Exchange). He is the founder and current President of the Lake Michigan Region Chapter of the 7x24 Exchange and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He is also a former member of the Computer Business Equipment Manufacturers Association (CBMC) committee to update NEC-Chapter 645 and UL1950.
