Mr. Gupta is a principal of SIGMA7 design group, an architectural and engineering firm in New York City, specializing in the strategic planning, design and project management of mission-critical facilities for the global financial services, pharmaceutical and technology clients. He has been the principal-in-charge of five data center projects in the last three years totaling over $500MM in construction costs.
Mr. Gupta has over 20 years of experience on successful integration of technology with building solutions. He was an appointed member of the Presidential/ GSA Blue-Ribbon security panel, formed pursuant to the bombing of the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995, to advise the federal government on design guidelines to mitigate physical threats and vulnerabilities. Mr. Gupta has previously spoken at the 2002 and 2003 7X24 spring conferences on end-to-end reliability forums. He has also served as the national chairman of the American Institute of Architect's Committee on design/build.
Mr. Gupta holds a Bachelor's from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT.) He was also an H. J. Heinz Graduate Fellow at the graduate program of architecture at the Carnegie-Mellon University.
